One Church was birthed from two churches, NEXT Church and Glady Branch Baptist Church, coming together under the conviction that working together for God’s Kingdom would be better than working separately. Jesus’ prayer for His followers in John 17 compelled our hearts to work towards unity amongst the body of Christ. Our desire is that we as followers of Jesus would be united across the world with His Word being our standard by which all human conduct, creeds, and religious opinions should be tried.
One Church relies heavily on many servant leaders who graciously volunteer their time and skill sets. Our pastors are vastly grateful for the leaders they are surrounded by. To get in touch with our pastors or other ministry leaders, please feel free to reach out. You can contact the church office at firstname.lastname@example.org
Dave spent his early years in Haiti as a MK — a missionary’s kid. It was an invaluable experience he has carried with him through life and on several missions trips to numerous countries. Dave's first eleven years as a pastor were spent in youth ministry. After 40 years of ministry and marriage, Dave and his wife, Brenda are passionate about wholistic family ministry. They have two sons, two beautiful daughters-in-law, and five indescribably awesome grandchildren. If you catch Brenda and Dave enjoying a little time off, it will either be hangin’ with family or, very likely, riding bikes, hiking or playing golf ... or at least attempting.
As a teenager, Wes grew up in Western NC and enjoyed much of the outdoor activities available in Brevard. He is passionate about God’s word, music, and Jiu-Jitsu! You might bump into him, along with his wife Nikki, and their two boys riding bikes, kayaking, or hiking to a swimming hole. Having spent several years overseas in ministry, Wes and Nikki’s heart is that many from all kinds of backgrounds, experiences, and cultures would enter into deeper relationship with God through Jesus.
The Bible: Is fully God inspired, authoritative, and is the ultimate standard of truth by which all religious opinions should be tried.
God: We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit. God the Father is the creator of all that exists; He is revealed through His Word (the Bible) and through His coming to Earth in the form of man, as Jesus Christ the Son of God. Jesus was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, performed super-natural miracles, willingly gave His life on the cross for all of mankind, was resurrected three days later, and ascended to Heaven where He resides at the right hand of the Father. The Holy Spirit is the helper Jesus promised to His followers that indwells them, convicts them, comforts them, and empowers them to follow Him.
Eternity: Jesus is preparing a place in Heaven for those who receive Him as Savior and Lord. Those who reject Jesus as Savior and Lord will be separated from Him forever in Hell. Salvation is the eternal life gift of God that cannot be earned by our own efforts. Salvation from sin and Hell can be received by trusting in Jesus for forgiveness, turning away from our sinful nature and turning toward God.
The Church: The church consists of all those who have accepted Jesus as Lord and Savior. Directed by Jesus and empowered by the Holy Spirit, it is the church’s responsibility to care for each other and to bring the good news of salvation to the world.
